Vitor is a member of the 4th generation of the Veit family, engaged in timber trade first in Germany and then in Brazil. For 40 years he was a shareholder and managing director at Cáceres Florestal SA. His company established the first commercial teak plantations in Brazil in the early 70s. Specialist in industrialization and trade of tropical timber, he was responsible for opening both local and international markets for Brazilian teak. He also worked as consultant to several forestry companies in the industrial and commercial areas. Vitor developed and patented a unique process of termo rectification of young teak logs.
